Surprise 65th Birthday Party!

When I am 65, I hope my kids are as wonderful as the ones who planned this gorgeous surprise birthday party for their parents. As their parents were both turning 65 within a few months of each other, the children planned this wonderful party. The colors were a bright orange and cheerful green, accented with silver.

The centerpieces were the main decor in the room, so we wanted them to be eye-catching. We used white hydrangea and roses for an elegant addition to colorful apples and oranges.

I was fortunate to have the talented Alisha to take pictures of the decor. You can check out more of her amazing work at http://www.alishagalbraithphotography.com/ or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/AlishaGalbraithPhotography . She really is fantastic.

Even though I only decorated the tables, I loved the pictures so much that I have to share a lot of them. :)  I think they turned out to be absolutely lovely!

Tall Centerpieces: Comprised of 5ft willow branches and gladiolus with hanging crystal strands surrounded by a "wreath" of roses and hydrangea. There was also an LED light in the middle that up-lit the centerpiece once the room darkened. Each centerpiece had either apples or oranges in the base.

Short centerpieces had either apples or oranges with floating candles with a wreath or roses and hydrangea.

Random Fact: This event had 28 centerpieces comprised of 72 vases of various sizes, 500 flowers, 200 pieces of fruit and over 100 candles. :)
