Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Dinner

Often, (probably because of our name) people think we only do weddings, however, we fill our schedule with all sorts of events including birthday parties, anniversary parties, and corporate events. Recently we were honored to create the centerpieces for a fundraiser dinner. 49 gallons of water beads, 160 vases & LED lights, and 52 mirrors. This was what went into the centerpieces for the Bloch School of Business Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

As a former graduate of the school, I was so honored to have been hired to create the centerpieces for this event. The awards and the dinner serve as a fundraiser, so the goal was to create centerpieces that created an impact on a small budget.

We designed this centerpiece using aspects of the event's marketing campaign, which included the words "Perseverance, Grit, and Fearless". The styling was meant to evoke an inner city feel, but with clean, modern accents. The result was a centerpiece constructed of three cylinder vases with the words written in block up the sides of the vases. The vases were filled to the top with clear water beads and were given a white LED light and placed on a mirror.

The centerpieces were perfect for the room. They fit the theme and really added to the atmosphere of the night.

Shalaya and Dillard

The phrase I remember most from planning this wedding came from my very first consultation with this lovely bride. She said, " If you wouldn't see it in a castle, you won't see it at my wedding." I loved it and I loved that she knew exactly how she wanted her wedding to be.

Shay was an absolute delight to work with and she and her new husband make a gorgeous couple. I was so honored to be able to help them create their dream wedding.

The wedding was held in the Little Theater at the KC Convention Center. The theater is filled with gorgeous art-deco architecture of gold and black. To complement this, the wedding colors were crisp white and black.

Because the ceremony and reception were held in the same room, we did a complete room flip in just under an hour. We provided the backdrop, chair covers & sashes, all the flowers, centerpieces,

We did three different centerpieces to add some variety in the room.

This centerpieces used three vases each with a different flower inside, the tall ones had calla lilies, the medium ones had stock, the short ones had alstromeria.

The large flower arrangements were used on the stage during the ceremony and then used on the head tables as centerpieces. They were made of hydrangea and roses:

Thanks so much for letting us be part of your wedding celebrations, Shay and Dillard! We loved working with you!
