Keeley and Michael

One of the fun challenges of our job is to take a random, unassuming room, and turn it into a gorgeous wedding celebration. This was what we got to do when we helped Keeley and Michael to turn the St Thomas Aquinas High School Commons area into the perfect venue. They are such a great couple and we really enjoyed working with them.

The room was actually quite nice but there were championship banners and school posters around the room. The secret to "hiding" the less ideal aspects of the room is really to camouflage it with up-lighting. Instantly, the columns that were located around the perimeter of the room were turned into pillars of colored light that drew the eye and the attention.

We also set-up a large backdrop, 20 ft wide and 10 feet tall that hid the gymnasium entrance and provided a great setting for the head table. We used white rosette curtains, with a white satin drape for a really clean, elegant affect. We then added up-lights in a soft pink and set up a customized gobo with the monogram for the couple's last name.

I was also really excited to do the flowers for this wedding. We used white hydrangeas, blush roses, and ivory roses to create truly lovely bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages.

The bridal bouquet had a mixture of roses, including pink/red tipped roses, blush roses, and ivory roses combined with white hydrangea.

The bridesmaids were wearing blush pink so their bouquets accented their dresses with white hydrangea and ivory roses.

We loved setting-up and taking-down with the couple's lovely family and friends. They were so delightful and it was such a privilege to be part of this wedding. Thanks again!

Roaring 1920's Birthday Bash

We think the best way to celebrate a birthday is with a bunch of your friends at a themed party with awesome decor and great food, so we were delighted to be able to help Charity welcome in her 22 year with a 1922 murder mystery! The costumes were fabulous and we had to decorate accordingly.

We created a backdrop using white sheer curtains with black beaded curtains in front and gold sequined fabric draping casually over the top. We placed crystal cake platters on the table for the food along with a gold candelabra for some added drama.

On the tables we placed black satin tablecloths with gold sequin runners. The centerpieces were cut crystal decanters with white ostrich feathers surrounded by 3 tealights.

We also made a black photo backdrop with gold frame so that people could take photos of their amazing evening attire. (Doesn't Charity look gorgeous?! Her husband looks pretty dapper too ;) )

I got the privilege of playing host for the evening and facilitating the game while Gina was kept busy behind the bar, creating and serving yummy drinks for the guests.

Other decor included wine crates and additional candles and candelabras around the room, but I was so busy I wasn't able to get a picture! :) Thanks Charity for letting us help with your awesome party!

Alejandra and Olinser

We love finding new venues and so we were delighted to decorate the new Red Barn in Weston, MO for this lovely couple's wedding. The barn is so gorgeous that this was a true case of "less is more" in terms of decor. We used burlap and lace to create a romantic rustic atmosphere.

We hung lace curtains on either side of the head table, with lights strung through them. We then hung a burlap "Mr and Mrs" banner between them.

\
The tables had burlap runners and centerpiece flowers grown by the bride's father, which we thought was really sweet.

We also created the bride's bouquet, toss bouquet, and groom's boutonniere, in addition to a baby's breath hair comb. I thought the flowers were simply gorgeous and the roses were the perfect lavender. :)

The guest book table was so charming and was provided by the venue and the couple had a cute guest "book" where guests could sign the custom-made tree.

Thanks again for letting us be part of your special day!

Nikki and Joseph

We always love a good destination wedding, so we were thrilled to load up the car and travel up to Beloit, Wisconsin to act as day of coordinators and decorate Nikki and Joe's wedding.

The wedding colors were hot pink and navy blue and the wedding was held in a community center in a riverside park. The wedding was held on the patio overlooking the river and was a gorgeous setting for such a sweet ceremony. The reception was held inside and we decorated the room simply, but enough to dress it up a bit. We hung organza and lights from the rafters and set up a gobo light of leaves to liven up the head table area.

The centerpieces were shallow fishbowls with waterbeads, an LED light, and a stargazer lily on top. They were simple but lovely.

The bridal bouquet was made using dark blue hydrangea and pink lilies,

\
The bridesmaids bouquets were made with hot pink roses and the pink lilies.

The corsages and bouts were made with hot pink roses. We added a little bit of diamond and pearl bling to the corsages for an extra touch.

We didn't make the cake, but it was so cute that I had to share!

Nikki and Joe, we so enjoyed being able to spend the weekend with you and your family! Thanks again for letting us help with your special day!

Blossom & Ifeanyi

We recently had the opportunity to create an enchanting atmosphere for a lovely wedding reception. The reception was held at The Town Pavilion in downtown Kansas City. It was a great venue, with tall ceilings and lots of natural light.

Since the entire wall behind the head table was glass windows that gave an excellent view of Main Street, we put up a 40 ft long backdrop of white semi-sheer curtains to block out the distracting traffic.

We provided red up-lighting to color the pillars that were situated around the room. We also created a custom gobo light with the names of the bride and groom to shine above the grand staircase.

(This was taken in the middle of the day, so the lights aren't as bright here)
We were also able to create all the beautiful bridal party flowers. The bride wanted all roses, hers in red and the bridesmaids in white. The groomsmen all had red roses as boutonnieres.

Thank you so much for letting us be part of your wonderful day!
